The day of the drawing, I was getting ready to meet up with family and friends at my mother and sister’s house. I just got everything I wanted to take when I locked my keys in the van. I knew I had a single spare key somewhere but wasn’t sure where? I looked through this that and the other place where I thought I knew where the key was when I found it. I was thinking to myself, “it took one key to get back into my van and it takes one key to win the car, what an ominous feeling.” When I got to my mother/sister’s place all the other guests, family and friends were there. And as I entered the house I told the the story of the single key and the ominious feeling I had.
About an hour later my sister called from Miami and said I won, then hung up. Now our family has a very morbid sense of humor so I thought she was joking with me. Then she called back and said screaming, “YOU WON, WE WON!!!!” I had to ask, “You’re kidding right?” she said no, you actually won!. That was the first half of an amazing trip to owning my dream car. When I finally got to touch it so I knew it was real and I wasn’t in a coma and it was all part of some twisted sick dream, because I’ve had those too. Walking one moment, then wake and dammit, not again, there’s my wheelchair, lolol
It’s been a fantastic ride so far and it will get even better the more I take it to the local and regional MOPAR and other shows in my area.
Invitation to Display At Portland Roadster Show
Then Sunday, March 6th, I got a friend PM request from David Jothen asking if I would like to show the Superbird at the Portland Roadster Show? I said yes without a second thought. What an honor to have my first show the largest in the NW. The show is Friday, Mar. 16th, Saturday the 17th, and Sunday the 18th, at the Portland Expo Center. Open until 9pm Friday and Saturday, 5pm on Sunday. See you there, I’m the gray long haried fat guy in a wheelchair. Stop by and say hi.
